Foundation Donates £15,000 to SpecialEffect

The Foundation are delighted to announce that we have donated £15,000 to a very special charity called Special Effect which Matt is Patron of.

Matt was instrumental in inspiring the creation of the charity in 2007 after working with it’s Founder Dr Mick Donegan, and the financial and moral support from all involved with the Foundation has been pivotal in helping SpecialEffect to change the lives of those with disabilities.

Matt has inspired and been actively involved in their award winning StarGaze project from the beginning, which provides the loan and support of eye-controlled technology. It’s technology that can open the door for initially for emergency communication, but can lead to independence in education, work and leisure. Demand for the services that the project offers is continually growing. Over 30 people are currently being supported and there’s a mounting waiting list.

But they don’t skip on detail to play the numbers game - each individual has specific needs and they make sure they get the maximum specialist support to ensure the equipment is being used to best effect.

We are proud to support this wonderful charity and to date have donated in the region of £100,000 to them over the years. We know the impact they have on people’s lives as Matt himself benefited massively in the initial stages of his recovery from the input from Dr Mick Donegan.
