Inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport

Leicester University Women’s Rugby Go Sober for the Matt Hampson Foundation

In the run up to their Varsity clash with De Montfort University the ladies rugby side are giving up alcohol for an entire month!

ULWRFC have pledged not to drink a single drop of alcohol until their game on the 9th of March and are using it as a fundraising opportunity. This year they have chosen to support the Matt Hampson Foundation and have already raised over £200 in one weekend. You can support them here.

Matt is giving his Get Busy Living talk on Friday 19th February to the Leicester University Rugby teams ahead of the varsity game that will take place at Welford Road.

Club Captain Daphne Fromes said “As a sports team ourselves, we are more than aware of the risks involved in playing sports, and thus feel as though the Matt Hampson Foundation represents a unique and important charity from which a lot of people could benefit. Serious injury or disability suffered from playing sports can happen to anyone at any point in time!”

The Matt Hampson Foundation wishes the ULWRFC the best of luck steering clear of the alcohol and in their varsity game on March 9th! You can support them and the Foundation here:
