Inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport

Matt Hampson Foundation to sponsor Wasps Semi Final against Leicester Tigers

We are proud to announce a match day partnership with Wasps, which will see the Foundation sponsor Wasps’ Semi Final against Leicester Tigers, at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 20 May, 5.15pm Kick off.

Matt and members of the Foundation will be attending next Saturday’s Semi Final at the Ricoh Arena and are supporting former Wasps back row Ed Jackson, during his rehabilitation from a serious spinal injury.

Ed “Jacko” Jackson was a hugely popular member of Wasps squad during his time at the club between 2013 and 2015. Currently with Newport-Gwent Dragons, the 28-year-old is still close friends with a number of Wasps’ current squad who have visited Ed regularly in hospital over recent weeks. You can follow Ed's progress on his Facebook page:

As part of the Semi Final off-field activities Wasps will organise bucket collections for Ed, which will be an opportunity for all Wasps fans to help look after one of their own #OnceaWaspAlwaysaWasp

If you are attending Saturday’s game and would like to help raise funds for Ed please contact about bucket collection!

Foundation Chief Executive Tommy Cawston said “We are delighted that some of Ed's family and friends will be joining us at the game next Saturday and hopefully the Foundation can provide support not just to Ed, but to all who are close to him.
“Again the rugby community has rallied around one of its own. We are all so lucky to be involved in such a wonderful sport and I think Ed's accident and other recent news puts into perspective the bigger picture. Yes, rugby is important and Saturday's game will be as fiercely competitive as ever, but it is just a game. I think the beauty of the sport is that it gives us all far more off the field than it ever does on the field and long may that continue.

“The Foundation would like to thank everyone at Wasps for their continued support and for giving us the opportunity to raise both our profile and some much needed funds to give Ed the best rehabilitation possible.
“Everyone at the Foundation wishes Ed a speedy recovery and our doors will always be open to him once the Get Busy Living Centre is complete.”
