Leicester Tigers Wheelchair rugby team head into the final BT Super Series Division One this weekend with a chance to win the league for the first time in the club’s history.
Tigers are two points clear of second-placed West Coast Crash after finishing first and third in the previous Super Series weekends.
This week’s two-day tournament at the University of Wolverhampton will see Tigers take on West Coast Crash, Gaelic Warriors and LWRC Crusaders in Pool A on Saturday (February 24), with the final and third-place play-off the following day.
Tigers head coach Darren Matthews hopes the club will keep up their good form and said: “We’re enjoying a great season. I think we made the right decision in consolidating our two teams from last season into one for this season and we’re stronger for that”.
The Foundation was instrumental in the setting up of the Leicester Tigers Wheelchair rugby team and it’s something Matt is very proud of “ I wish the guys all the best for the weekend and hope they can bring the trophy home and be able to parade it at Welford Road in the coming weeks!”
