Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby Team are Champions

The Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby Team have been crowned BT Super Series Division One Champions following a successful final weekend of fixtures.

The team, which the Matt Hampson Foundation helped to set up with the Leicester Tigers, has been a real success story.

Hambo commented “It’s an awesome achievement and I’m so proud of everyone involved, Leicester has become a real focal point for Wheelchair Rugby and it’s great to see the Team and the sport getting the recognition they deserve”.

The on-court success of a couple of the Foundation’s beneficiaries was also highlighted by the inclusion of both Nick Cummins (1.5) and Jamie Stead (2.5) being voted 'Best in Class' for their efforts.

Leicester Tigers Club Captain and Foundation Ambassador tweeted
Just moments after the final whistle in the decisive victory over Crash, "Congratulations to our @TigersWR lads on claiming the BT Super Series Division One title today! Awesome stuff. Well done lads, from all of us at Welford Road!"
