Tori Gardner from the South African Rugby charity the Players’ Fund visited the Get Busy Living Centre this week whilst on a family holiday.
The Matt Hampson Foundation has a close affinity to the South African charity and we have worked together a number of times over the years most notably in helping to save the life of young Herve Irakunda. The Players’ fund also supported one of our beneficiaries George Robinson and his family when he broke his neck whilst on a rugby tour in South Africa with Stamford School.
Tori commenting on Instagram after her visit “This morning I was given a tour of the Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire. It is a world-class facility that will soon be a harbour of hope and support for seriously injured sportsmen and women in the UK. We’re so proud of what our English Cousins have achieved and wish them the very best in the future”.
Foundation CEO Tommy Cawston spoke of the visit “It was awesome to have Tori over from South Africa, I know she enjoyed catching up with George and his family and finally meeting Matt and seeing the centre meant it was a productive couple of days. We have a great relationship with the Players’ fund and long may that continue”.
