Inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport

Lands End to John O'Groats

Giles Houston and his team of cyclists are tackling one of the great cycling challenges of Great Britain, Lands End to John O'Groats and he explains why.

Why this challenge. Lands End to John O'Groats is one of the cycling bucket list journeys. It represents a physical and mental challenge in equal measure. The team are mixed in terms of cycling experience and ability and the challenge is both personal and team orientated. Although the challenge is personal, working within and as a team will be vital to ensure we all get through the 9 days. Much in the same way as the beneficiaries of the foundation face very personal challenges every day - the teams around them are invaluable and help the individuals achieve their goals.

We expect it to be hard, we expect everyone to have highs and lows and it will be the strength of the team that will get us through the dips so we can all celebrate the high of finishing.

Why are we supporting the Matt Hampson Foundation?
We all live in and around Oakham and have all in some way or another got a connection with either Matt or the Charity itself - hence why we choose to support the great work you are all doing. We are also doing something that many who come into contact with the Foundation cannot do, but would dearly love to be able to do. We can do it, so we should - very much fits in with the Get Busy Living mantra you have.

It is going to be an exciting adventure and we are all delighted to be helping the Foundation along the way.
