Inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport

Leicester Mercury Sports Awards

On the 16th of January the annual Leicester Mercury Sports Awards took place at Welford Road, Leicester Tigers’ ground. It was a great night with winners from all over Leicester including former Tigers back, John Duggan, taking home the lifetime achievement award as well as Ben Chilwell and Emily Scarratt taking home Leicester’s sportsman and sportswoman of the year, respectively.

The Foundation also found success last night, with Hambo taking the Neville Hamilton Award through the construction of the ‘state of the art’ Get Busy Living Centre, which Hambo officially opened with patron Mike Tindall on the 2nd of October 2018.

Since then the Centre has served as a mental and physical rehabilitation hub for beneficiaries of the Foundation. The Foundation is soon to start it next project with the construction of two accommodation buildings and a hydrotherapy pool, to help extend its breadth to reach people all over the country - providing them with treatment that cannot be replicated anywhere else other than hospitals.
