Inspiring and supporting young people seriously injured through sport

My name is Joshua Brown. Like Matt rugby is a sport I have played and loved. Sport is a massive part of my life and i have grown up competing in numerous types and competing at county - national levels. I am training for decathlons at the moment along side university rugby and cycling. Academically I am currently at Leeds Beckett University undergoing a degree in Human Geography.

So why did I choose the Matt Hampson foundation? Being a rugby player myself and having loads of good friends competing from grass routes to Aviva premiership level, it only seemed right to help the Matt Hampson Foundation as injuries like this can happen to any of us. Seeing the support that the charity gives to people with serous injuries and disabilities it is an inspiration for players like me that fellow friends and team mates if injured will always be able to partake somehow or be involved in the sport they love.

The run I am doing is called the Clumber Park Half Marathon. It is a half marathon in distance, but instead of being on the road it is all cross country across rivers, mud paths, hills and through forests.

I would be more than grateful for your donations towards such as great charity.

Many thanks
Joshua Brown
