Inspiring and Supporting young people seriously injured through sport

Who We Support

The Matt Hampson Foundation works with young people seriously injured through sport. Many of our beneficiaries arrive following traumatic experiences that can leave them feeling lost, scared and unsure of what to do next.

Some people come to us following completion of their NHS physiotherapy having been told there’s nothing more that can be done. Some join our community after leaving hospital but still needing lots of support at home, not strong enough to be fully independent or mobile.

Many will have spent a long period of time in a hospital bed away from friends and family and have no previous experience of disabled people or how they navigate the world. Scared for the future, lamenting lost careers and dreams.

We believe that beginning rehabilitation as soon as possible after injury is key to recovery. The Foundation really is a special place that helps so many people to recover, rebuild and get busy living again.

All of our beneficiaries are inspirational. They all have different stories to tell but they share one thing in common; a strength of character to overcome adversity and a desire to get busy living.
